About Vadim Schäffler
Vadim Schäffler composes non-places: abstract and surreal landscapes, apocalyptic-looking, sterile and uncanny settings, sometimes close to disaster scenarios. Mostly in the medium of digital video animation and computer-generated photography. He is interested in the uniformity of media images, the non-verbal communication of the people, creatures and avatars, their physiognomy and gaze. These elements form the grammar of the open narrative.
Vadim Schäffler is a visual artist, lecturer at the UDK Berlin in the field of 2D and 3D animation, post-production and extended moving image. As a freelance motion designer and video artist, he has realised numerous projects. He studied fine arts at the HBK Braunschweig with a focus on experimental film, video animation and video installation.
